Yangzhou Qingqu, also known as Guangling Qingqu and Weiyang Qingqu, is a folk art singing method based on Yangzhou popular folk songs and minor tunes in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Commonly known as "singing a ditty" or "singing a ditty". Mainly popular in Yangzhou, Zhenjiang and Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, it is performed in Yangzhou dialect.
It was formed in the early Qing Dynasty. The traditional form of performance is that one to two to eighty-nine people hold pipa, sanxian, Qin Yue, Hu Si, erhu and dulcimer, accompanied by sandalwood, plates and wine glasses, and most of them are accompanied by five people holding pipa, sanxian, erhu, Hu Si and dulcimer.
Singing is all kinds of qupai. In the early days, it was mainly used to break jade, reverse oars, stack money, reincarnate grass, Manjianghong, Xiangjiang waves and so on. Later, it was mainly used in soft tune, southern tune, Bo Yang tune, spring tune, cylinder tune, flower tune, Yangtze tune, Yangliuqing tune and Xueyonglan tune.

Yangzhou Qingqu singing can be divided into professional singing and self-entertainment. In the old days, the former was performed by individuals or families on the streets or on passenger ships sailing in inland rivers, and later it was mainly performed by full-time actors of professional Quyi performance groups.
Most of the latter are shop assistants, small-scale craftsmen and guest singers of intellectual citizens. Some people have even made greater contributions to the creation of songbooks and the reform and arrangement of musical tunes, while others have done some theoretical research work, such as Wanqing Wang's "Experience of Yangzhou Qingqu Singing".
