Because Dayun Temple is close to the official roads of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, incense is strong, and two incense conferences are formed on the fifteenth day of the first month and the fifteenth day of August every year. During the dinner, men, women and children, carrying flowers and fruits, carrying incense sticks and paper horses, walked into the Thousand Buddha Pavilion to make a wish. On both sides of Temple Avenue and around the Thousand Buddhas Pavilion, there are rows of stalls and shops, crowded with people, jostling shoulder to shoulder, merchants gathering, business thriving, and a scene of peace and prosperity. After the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, temples declined and incense was neglected. In the early years of the Republic of China, it became more and more dilapidated, and most of the houses were demolished. Later, bricks and tiles were lost year by year, and even the shadow of ruin could not be seen. People in the surrounding ten miles and eight townships often express their regret for Dayun Temple in their words.
Dayun Temple has experienced thousands of years. With the rise and fall of dynasties, it witnessed and influenced the history of Xiajin. Xiajin County, located at the junction of northwest Shandong and southeast Hebei, has not only Buddhist culture, but also the harmonious coexistence and development of the Yellow River, Meng Hui, Canal and other cultures, with profound traditional culture. Due to the lack of sufficient attention for many years, many traditional cultures have lost their former elegance and even almost disappeared. In order to "dig deep into history and culture and protect folk culture", the voice of the masses to increase the excavation and protection of folk culture is getting higher and higher, especially after the development and construction of the old Yellow River Road Forest Park, intangible culture is given a tangible carrier through the protection, restoration and reconstruction of historical sites, which has become the common aspiration of tourists from all over the world and the masses in Xiajin. Therefore, the comrades of the county tourism and ethnic and religious departments contacted and actively sought the support of the National Buddhist Association and other relevant units. After several efforts, the planning, design, site selection and fund-raising of the new Dayun Temple are all ready. After the completion of Dayun Temple, there will be Bell and Drum Tower 1 seat, Maitreya Hall 1 seat, Daxiong Hall 1 seat, Tibetan Scripture Pavilion 1 seat and Monk House 1 seat. Platycladus orientalis, Ginkgo biloba, Magnolia grandiflora and Jin Mu are planted in the courtyard, while Salix matsudana, Melia azedarach, Fraxinus mandshurica and Populus tomentosa are planted outside the courtyard. Dayun Temple, with deep forests and misty clouds, mainly focuses on tourism and attracts surrounding tourists through temple fairs, Buddhism and other activities. In this new era, Dayun Temple and other former scenic spots will surely regain their glory and once again become a new landscape in Xiajin.
