The Japanese army took part in the war in two ways: the southern line was led by the Army Corps, the Foreign Corps and the God Corps, and the southern line was led by the Army Corps on the right, advancing to Qucun and Liusi (Qucun and Liusi are now Zhangbian Township, Shaanxi County) as the main force; On the left are the Foreign Corps and the God Corps, originally stationed in Britain, Wuyuan and Shaanxi. On June 2, it was moved to Nanxianshan and Beimiao (now a temple in Zhangbian Township, Shaanxi County) to contain the Kuomintang army. The Northern Line is the Sugiyama Corps and the Bear Corps directly under the First Army, which replaced foreign troops and transferred to Britain and Wuyuan as assists. Before the end of May, the Japanese army that captured Shaanxi Province had only foreign corps and magic soldiers, and gathered near Britain, Wuyuan and Shaanxi County. Since then, the Army Corps, the Chinese fir Corps and the Bear Corps sent by the 12th Army, headed by the Tianbing Corps, have set out for Shaanxi County in an attempt to annihilate the main force of the Eighth Theater east of Ganxiang and on both sides of the Hongnong River.
The deployment of the Kuomintang army is opposite to the main attack direction of the Japanese army, with the northern line as the main attack and the southern line as the supplement. The Kuomintang troops participating in the war were deployed in "two lines and two wings": the commander of the first line of defense was Ma Fawu, the commander of the 40 th Army, and the Eighth Division of the Wu Army was deployed in the north and south of Dawang Village (now Dawang Town of Lingbao); The right wing is Li Zhenqing 106 Division, which is deployed in Xianshanmiao area east of Yangdian Town. Dai Muzhen 109 Division (under the 325th Regiment) is deployed in the west of Dawang Village to support the 8th Division. The commander of the second line of defense is the commander of the first army, Zhang Zhuo. The defense line is on both sides of the Hongnong River from lingbao city to Guolue Town and Zhoujiashan (now lingbao city, Zhoujiashan is near Wumu Township), and the main position is on the west bank. This line separates the left and right areas. The commander on the left is the commander of the 57th Army, the defender is the 97th Division of Fu, and the division headquarters is in Liwan Garden. The protected areas are Old lingbao city, Potou, Niuzhuang and Beitiancun (Old lingbao city now belongs to Dawang Town, Potou now belongs to Hanguguan Town, and Niuzhuang and Beitiancun now belong to Chengguan Town). Guo's 289th Regiment guards Lingbao City to Nandiantou near Hanguguan. Zeng's 290 regiments guarded Potou, Niuzhuang and Beitian. The commander on the right is Wang Longji, the commander of the 167th Division, defending Beitian, Guolie Town and Zhoujiashan. The 560th regiment of Mineral Springs Beauty is guarding Beitian to Guolue Town, and the 499th regiment of He Yichi is guarding Du Yue to Shijiashan area south of Guolue Town. In addition, the 325th regiment of Liu Ming's 109 Division defended Zhoujiashan to Zhuyang Town on the left bank of Xijiang River. There are about 65.438 million Kuomintang troops in Lingbao, under the command of the commander of the 34th Army and the commander-in-chief of the First Theater of Chiang Kai-shek.
After learning of this deployment of the Kuomintang army, the Japanese army was overjoyed when the commander of the first army, Yoshimoto Masayoshi No.1 Middle School, proposed to concentrate troops on the North China Army to reinforce the eighth theater of the Kuomintang army in Lingbao, and demanded to attack Tongguan to threaten Xi 'an, so he telegraphed to the North China Army: "Our army is going to fight near Lingbao in a week or so and defeat the troops east of Lingbao, especially the eighth theater."
Okamura Ningji in Zhengzhou command post attached great importance to the suggestions of the First Army. On May 27th, he flew to Shanxian with the staff officers to study the next battle plan with Gibbon. Finally, Okamura Ningji agreed to Gibbon's plan, and ordered two China chariot squadrons of the 3rd Division 17 United Battalion, which did not participate in Luoyang operations, to be temporarily incorporated into the First Army. In order to obey the overall deployment of "Battle No.1", the North China Army gave little time to the First Army, and ordered it to complete the offensive task and turn to defense before June 10.
