Couplets are a traditional book format, also known as couplets, commonly known as pairs. Predecessors said that couplets originated in the Five Dynasties, and Meng Zhou, a master of Houshu, wrote the words "Fu Tao" on the bedroom door: "The New Year is, the festival is Changchun ..." In the Song Dynasty, it developed into couplets used on pillars, and in the Ming Dynasty, it formed the custom of pasting couplets by every family, which later evolved into celebration, decoration, communication and artistic appreciation. This shows that couplets are condensed and evolved from poetry, and also conform to the antithesis form of poetry. Therefore, couplets have become a book format with complicated content, simple form and neat antithesis. There are four couplets, five couplets, seven couplets, eight couplets and several crosses. Each pair of couplets can be written in two lines, which is called "Long Mendui". Because couplets are composed of two couplets, the characters are large and sparse, and artistic creation is difficult. It is necessary not only to write couplets symmetrically, but also to coordinate them with each other. Therefore, when choosing fonts such as Zhen, Li and Zhuan, you must first fold the grid; If you write in cursive script, you can cross lines and grids, but you should also take care of everything from top to bottom, from left to right, and be harmonious and unified.
