Lion Bridge Street first comes from Lion Bridge City, and then from Lion Bridge Street. In the Song Dynasty, merchants from Quzhou gathered and prospered. In the tenth year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty (1077), the business tax of Quzhou City ranked second among the 11th governments of Liang Zhedao, second only to the Hangzhou government. After the Song Dynasty moved south, the grass market around Qucheng also developed rapidly. Surrounded by four market towns such as Anren City, there are more than ten grass markets such as Shili, Houxi and Yingchuan. Shiqiao Town was probably developed during the Song and Yuan Dynasties. By the Qing Dynasty, the economic development of Quzhou seemed to be stagnant, but Quzhou City was still the distribution center of grain, salt, medicinal materials and timber in western Zhejiang. Near Shiqiao City in the city, in the long years, houses were built, residential areas were formed, and then streets appeared. Shiqiao Street and Heather Street should be formed like this. Therefore, Lion Bridge Street is named after Lion Bridge Market.
