Lixian County is the real birthplace of Qin State and Qin culture, and is known as the "hometown of Qin Huang". The name of the county originated from the place name "Li Dian", which was originally set up as Marshal House in Wenzhou, Li Dian, and later changed "Li" to "Li". It was not until the Ming Dynasty that Lixian was officially named.
