How did folk songs evolve into girls' plays?
A long time ago, folk songs were popular in Meixian County and Huxian County of Shaanxi Province at the foot of Taibai Mountain in Qinling Mountain, which was called "Qing tune". These Qing dynasty tunes are based on local people's daily life, such as labor, emotion, marriage, funeral and so on. They tell the joys and sorrows of ordinary people and their hobbies with rich singing materials and singing forms.

Later, on the basis of inheriting the ditty and divertimento of the Yuan Dynasty, local artists integrated the tunes of the Qing Dynasty into the folk songs and tunes since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and after a long period of evolution, a new kind of drama was formed, which is Meihua Opera.

There is also a saying about the origin of Meihua Opera, saying that Meihua Opera originated in Huayin and hua county, Shaanxi. Because this is the area of the State of Zheng in the Zhou Dynasty, folk songs have been popular since ancient times. This is the so-called Zheng Sheng.

Therefore, if Meihua Opera originated here, it may have been influenced by Zheng Sheng. Because the melody here is sweet and charming, I took out a riddle; Because the local people in Shaanxi have explained Hu's acting skills, the two are collectively called "Fan Hu Opera", which means that Xiaoqu Opera is full of charm.

Among these statements, the first one is a relatively recognized view, that is, plum blossom originated from the popular Gu Qing dialect in Meixian and Huxian counties of Shaanxi Province. Subsequently, the plum blossom drama in Shaanxi spread to Linfen, Linyi, Henan, Gansu, Ningxia, Xinjiang and other places in Shanxi, and combined with local folk art, many small tunes with different styles were formed.

Shaanxi Meihua Opera is very popular because of its elegant singing and easy-to-understand lyrics. In addition, some traditional historical stories are sung together, which meets the needs of people at all levels and truly appeals to both refined and popular tastes, so it is welcomed by men, women and children.

There are many Qupai in Hu Mei Opera in Shaanxi Province, and there are often more than one Qupai name or more than one Qupai name in the past due to different regions, long circulation time and other factors.

For example, in the North-South Song of the Yuan Dynasty, there were tunes such as Huanglong Roll, Wugengxu, Manjianghong, Luojiang Powder, Liuqingniang and Zhulian. In the Ming Dynasty, there were tunes such as Yinniu Si, Crying Emperor, Noisy Wugeng, Children's Play and Taiping Year. In the Qing Dynasty, there were tunes such as cutting indigo flowers, overlapping bridges, dropping money and embroidering purses.

The names of these Qupai are almost the same as those of the later Qupai in Meihua Opera, which shows that they are really related. However, whether this Qupai is Biqu brand remains to be further verified.

The early performance form of Meihua Opera in Shaanxi Province was that people in rural areas and towns sat and sang Qingqu and Xiaoqu by themselves, which was the so-called stall singing method. The content is mostly folk life stories, mainly with three strings. At that time, the songs sung by artists were divided into major and minor.

The main tunes, such as Daqian, Huanglonggun and Manjianghong, have strict rhythms and are difficult to master. Minor tunes, such as Gangdiao, Yuediao, Wugeng, Yinnius and Dazzle, are flexible and free.
