Introduction of Shanghang Hakka dialect
Shanghang in western Fujian is the ancestral home of Hakka people. The migration of Shanghang Hakkas to Yining area is a migration history that occurred at the peak of Shanghang Hakkas' migration in the early Qing Dynasty. According to the Hakka Genealogy of Yining Prefecture, in the early Qing Dynasty, just after the migration movement of "Huguang to Sichuan" organized by the central government of Qing Dynasty, Yining Prefecture of Jiangxi Province also promulgated the policy of "recruiting people according to orders". Under this background, a large number of Hakka people from Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi moved to Yining Prefecture. According to the data, by the end of Kangxi, nearly 10 thousand people had moved to Yining Prefecture, with the largest number of Hakka in Shanghang. After the Hakkas immigrated to Yining area, they came back from spring to winter and lived in tents, which were called "shed people" in history. After the establishment of "Huaiyuan Capital", it is also called "Huaiyuan people".
