The Origin of Fuzhou Tea-picking Opera
In the early days of Fuzhou, Ding Ban was ugly only once, plus a "sitting in the hall" (gongs and drums player) singing single plays and small plays. It was not until the reign of Emperor Kangxi that he joined the niche businesses. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the "three-legged class" began to transition to the "half-legged class", and the number of personnel increased from three to seven or eight, and old-fashioned businesses were added. Students are clean and ugly, and accompanying instruments have been added, such as erhu, sanxian, flute and suona. 1934, Zhang Chuang, a famous tea-picking artist in Chongren County, founded the first professional semi-class "Youmintang" of Fuzhou tea-picking opera. Later, vocational half classes were established one after another. Some old artists of Fuzhou puppet show also joined the performance of "Banban" and brought a large number of plays, accompanying songs and some vocals into the tea-picking drama. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the string orchestras of Fengcheng and Gao 'an entered Fuzhou, joined with the "Banban" artists in Fuzhou, and brought new tunes such as "local tune" and "small flower tune" to the tea-picking opera, which were combined with local monotony and Tian Hui tune to develop into "local tune" and "fu tune" respectively.
