Yuncheng County's geotectonic structure belongs to the depression zone on the southwest edge of the Shandong platform anticline in Lutai, China, which is located in the "Southwest Depression of Luxi Fault Block". The surface of Yuncheng County is covered by Cenozoic strata, and no bedrock is exposed. Geomorphology is controlled and influenced by internal and external forces such as underground rock structure and the Yellow River above ground. The whole terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, and there are no hills. The whole area belongs to the alluvial plain of the Yellow River.

The height difference between southwest and northeast is 9 meters, the ground slope is1/5000-1/0000, and the altitude is 38.5-47.5 meters. Geomorphological types include gentle slope zone, shallow depression zone, river zone and floodplain high zone.
