Audi A4L is full of public opinions and topics. As the only front-drive vehicle of its class, if it is included in the sports vehicle array, it seems to be different from its market positioning. However, its inclusion in the commercial vehicle series failed to meet the user standards. This ambiguous market positioning relationship seems to have been shrouded in Audi A4L.
Of course, the world should not be black and white as described by the author, but it is important to find a suitable living space in time. Audi seems to see the truth after a series of rolling and crawling. Finally, in April this year, it launched a brand-new A4L with sports flavor, determined to enter the sports car market.
The author's test drive model is 2020 Audi A4L? 45? TFSI? Quattro chose the power model, and the official guide price was 396,800. The car is equipped with ACC adaptive cruise, dynamic steering system (variable transmission ratio), electric rear sunshade, HUD head-up display and many other configurations.
Looking closely at the appearance of the new Audi A4L, the author has a picture of "juniors copying seniors' homework", in which seniors refer to Audi RS high-performance family. Indeed, the appearance language of the new A4L is basically taken from the Audi RS series style; Large-area blackened air intake grille, chrome-plated decorative panels on both sides, and well-defined muscle lines all add a sporty atmosphere to Audi A4L.
More importantly, the new A4L adds six LED strip on the headlights, which can not only be used as daytime running lights, but also realize Audi's unique "light language" design, and at the same time, it has successfully stabilized the title of "lamp factory".

Entering the car, Audi's "unique" car smell is still on my face; Strong but not pungent. But what attracts the author's attention is that the car is wrapped in carbon fiber interior and Alcantara leather, which is rare in Audi A4L.
From the perspective of carriage layout, the overall design is mainly functional and practical, but there are still many new scientific and technological elements. The virtual cockpit integrates the previous physical fuel quantity and water temperature labels into the on-board system to form a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel.
The central control screen is upgraded from 8.3 inches to 10. 1 inch. The system is built on the Android platform, and users can install the software themselves. It is worth mentioning that this screen adds touch function, but it cancels vibration feedback compared with other models.
Although at present, major automobile manufacturers tend to use large-size screens and reduce physical buttons to create a so-called "sense of technology." However, the new Audi A4L retains the traditional elements and blends the old and new elements, which is just right.

Compared with the "dual-screen design" layout adopted by Audi's flagship model, although it meets the visual perception, its practicality is not as convenient as physical buttons.

That's it. Let's get back to the point. The author drove around the suburban streets and gained a lot of attention along the way. Indeed, even on a hot morning, there are still many passers-by who are willing to look back because of the unique car paint color and the performance-rich sports kit.
Even so, the author in the carriage was deeply moved. It is not because I have the aura of "Audi" that I gain infinite confidence, but because the performance of the car makes me excited. The strong power output by the 2.0T high-power engine needs no elaboration by the author. What surprised me was the shift performance of the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The author has contacted many Audi S-tronic earlier. Of the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox models, only the new A4L makes the author satisfied. After the gearbox is adjusted to the sport mode, it can realize the radical performance of continuously dropping the third gear. More interestingly, when the author needs to speed up overtaking, the gearbox will not upshift for no reason, but will increase the speed to more than 4000 rpm before shifting gears, thus ensuring the power output.
In sport mode, in addition to tighter steering of the steering wheel, with the lowered sport suspension of Audi S4 and quattro timely four-wheel drive system, the handling sense of the whole vehicle has been improved. This situation is especially obvious when entering the corner at high speed. When entering the corner at high speed, the suspension cut into bending center in a "low-prone" posture, and then the tire and pavement asphalt began to compete with each other, but thanks to the quattro four-wheel drive system, the tire successfully won the race.
When the author adjusts the mode to comfort, the overall dynamic feedback becomes more and more smooth. Even in the special case of 45-60km/h, the engine can be temporarily turned off and assisted by 12V motor, so that the vehicle can "float" on the road like a neutral taxi, thus achieving the effect of energy saving.
And this is only a special mode under specific working conditions, even if the author has been driving for five days, it is not common. But, driving a 252 car? The violent beast of Ps performance output, why care too much about fuel consumption performance?
Of course, the author is not a "floor oil madman" or an "oil tycoon", and the fuel consumption performance of daily driving is of course important. Even in Guangzhou, which is always congested, the on-board system shows that the fuel consumption is between10.1-kloc-0/l, which is at a normal level compared with its peers, but the energy-saving effect of 12V motor-assisted is not obvious.
Until the moment when the car was returned, A4L still had many unknowns to be discovered by the author, but what remained in the author's mind was its changes. "Seeking common ground while reserving differences" cannot be fulfilled in it. When the major automobile manufacturers are pursuing comprehensiveness, the emergence of A4L seems to tell their opponents that "sports are king".
I still can't believe A4L has become so radical. It's not because the new A4L has become sporty that it feels incredible. In fact, it is not difficult for Audi to develop a performance model. It is more difficult to consider the future development and positioning of the model to ensure that the model can still survive in the market in the next few years.
However, if consumers need a car that can bring fun to performance, take the A4L top model announced by Audi as an example, why not choose S4 with higher performance or S3 with lower price? Although the author has tested the top model, not every consumer will lock the purchase target on the top model. It is irrational to start with a price close to 400,000 yuan.
After reading this, do you still think "sports" is really suitable for A4L? This problem has been considered for a long time during the test drive. Although the car has excellent dynamic performance and handling response, it lacks ride comfort. Not every consumer can tolerate this situation that you can't have the best of both worlds like a weight.
Even so, it is no longer an A4L whose details are not necessarily jade carvings, and the A4L whose details can't be seen.
