Does the Mainland recognize legal marriage in Hong Kong?
Hong Kong's legal marriage is recognized by the mainland, and foreign marriage registration is recognized by the mainland as long as it conforms to the mainland and local laws. However, whether the marriage registration is true or not needs to be determined through relevant notarization and other procedures.

According to the laws of Hong Kong, if a marriage is registered in Hong Kong, the procedure is as follows:

1. Marriage registration must require the guardian of the man or woman to check the notice of marriage application at the marriage registration office.

2. After the application is submitted, the Registration Management Committee will indicate the effective registration time in the notice, which is generally valid within 3 months. After this time, you must resubmit your application.

3. According to the laws of Hong Kong, after 15 days, the registrar will issue a certificate of marriage registrar and then inform you that the wedding must be held within 3 months.

4. When a wedding is held, it shall be presided over by the marriage registrar, or by the priest attending the church, or by the guardian.

If the wedding is not held within 3 months, the notice will be invalid. If you want to get married in a registered marriage, you must resubmit the notice.

Materials to be submitted for notarization of marriage certificate in Hong Kong

1, the original Hong Kong marriage certificate;

2. Copies of ID cards or passports of both parties.

3. For buying and selling real estate, bank loans or settling down, photos of both husband and wife are required.
