Shijiazhuang has built a "1+4" urban development pattern with the main urban area as the core, Gaocheng, Zhengding, Luquan and Luancheng as the focus, and the east-west and north-south highways and railways as the link.
The "Eleventh Five-Year Development Plan for Urbanization in Hebei Province" recently issued by the provincial government proposes to focus on the planning and construction of Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Baoding, Handan and their surrounding areas, strengthen the construction and enjoyment of regional infrastructure, adjust the industrial layout, optimize the urban spatial structure and promote the development of urban agglomerations.
The "Planning" proposes that Shijiazhuang should build a "1+4" urban development pattern with the main urban area of Shijiazhuang as the core, Gaocheng, Zhengding, Luquan and Luancheng as the focus, and east-west, north-south highways and railways as the link, so as to make the provincial capital city group bigger, stronger and better, and consolidate and improve its "leader" position in the province's urbanization.
According to the plan, Tangshan should build a development pattern with Tangshan's central city (including Kaiping and Fengnan) as the core, Feng Run and Guye as the focus, and Caofeidian New District (including Caofeidian Industrial Zone and Binhai New City, Lingang Development Zone and Nanbao Development Zone) as the support, and strive to expand the scale and strength of urban agglomeration, make every effort to build Tangshan's position as a sub-central city in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei metropolitan area (metropolitan area) and promote the rapid development of eastern Hebei and coastal areas.
According to the plan, Baoding should build a "one city, three stars" urban spatial structure with Baoding main city as the core, coordinate the development of Xu Shui, Mancheng, Qingyuan County and surrounding important towns, improve the scale and strength of Baoding urban agglomeration as soon as possible, and strive to make great achievements in the urban network of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
According to the plan, Handan will build a development pattern with the main urban area as the core and several satellite cities (Cixian, Wu 'an, Yongnian, Cheng 'an, Feixiang, Linzhang and Fengfeng) with a radius of 30 kilometers around the city as different functional carriers. Handan will base itself on the geographical advantages at the junction of Hebei, Shanxi and Lu Yu provinces, vigorously expand the scope of regional economic and trade, strive to build an urban agglomeration where the four provinces meet, and improve regional comprehensive competitiveness.
