Brief introduction of Anyang campaign
1945 (thirty-four years of the Republic of China) From June to July, in the middle of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, troops of the Taihang Military Region of the Eighth Route Army of China attacked the Japanese puppet troops in the west of Anyang, Henan. Anyang is a transportation hub connecting southern Hebei, northern Henan and Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces. There are more than 7,000 Japanese puppet troops entrenched in this area, among which the Japanese army was independently incorporated into Anyang City 1 Brigade, the puppet troops suppressed Li, and 1 Army guarded the periphery. The Japanese puppet troops overhauled the bunker stronghold here in an attempt to block the connection between the Eighth Route Army and the mountainous area. In order to annihilate the puppet troops Li and the Japanese army, and to liberate and consolidate the vast areas west of Pinghan Road and north of Hebi, the Taihang Military Region of the Eighth Route Army concentrated the forces of five military divisions and nine regiments of the Eighth Route Army Headquarters Guard Corps to form three detachments. With the cooperation of more than 30 thousand militia and self-defense forces, the battle of Anyang started on June 30.
