Liu Shengta, also known as Wanshou Pagoda, commonly known as Shihu Pagoda, is located in Shihu Village, Hanjiang Town, shishi city, Quanzhou. Provincial key cultural relics protection units
The Liusheng Pagoda was built in the first year of the Northern Song Dynasty (111), which is located on the Chai Jin Mountain near the lake in shishi city, and has been abandoned. The present tower was rebuilt by Ling Huifu, a native of Jinjiang, in Yuan Shundi in the second year of Yuan Dynasty (1336). Liu Sheng Pagoda is made of mud and stone, and it is a pavilion-like building with wood structure. It is a five-story octagonal building with a bottom circumference of about 46 meters and a height of about 3 1 meter. After restoration, the height is 36.06 meters, the base circumference is 47.5 meters, and there is a double-layer sumeru. The shape and structure of this tower are similar to the East West Tower of Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou. It consists of three parts: the outer wall, the cloister and the tower center. Each floor has four doors and four niches, and the positions are interchanged at different levels; There is a stone Buddha in the stone niche, and there are relief statues such as King Kong and Lux on both sides of the niche. There are also tower eaves and peace seats. From the shutter door, there are cloisters and towers; The center of the tower is octagonal, hollow like a well, and can go straight down, which is different from the East West Tower. On the huge stone pillar at the corner of each floor, it is not the square "reed bucket" of the East West Tower, but a round lotus basin. At the same time, the technique of "Queti" is more complicated than the East West Tower, which has obvious characteristics of the times. In addition, each beam of the tower is engraved with the name and time of the builder. The arch on the south side of the ground floor is hung with a "Flower Belt Monument" on the forehead, and the words "Wanshou Tower" are engraved on the right side, and the words "Zhiyuan Bingzi twelfth lunar month" (1336) and "Tan Yuejin River Hui Ling Newly Built" are engraved.
Before the maintenance, the Liu Sheng Pagoda remained basically the same, although it was damaged and some cornices had fallen off.
The south of Liushengta is far from Gusao Tower. Like Gusao Tower, it is the main navigation mark of Quanzhou Bay in ancient times. The architectural design of Liu Sheng Pagoda not only fully demonstrates the superb skills of ancient Quanzhou architects, but also has the only sculpted and exquisite reliefs of gods, bodhisattvas and negative tallis in Quanzhou.
Liushengta, a Shishi in Quanzhou, is a typical building in Yuan Dynasty. It was announced as the first batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units in 196 1.
In 2006, "Quanzhou Shishi Liu Sheng Pagoda" was listed in the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
