My hometown Xinghua is a veritable water town. There are criss-crossing rivers here, and all rivers, like blood, become part of the town. I leaned against the railing of the bridge and watched Miss Liu, who loves beauty, dance in the breeze, and her long green hair gently brushed the water. South of the bridge is Wu Ying Road, which is the busiest street in the town. Colorful billboards, neon lights and rows of tall buildings on both sides give me a dazzling feeling. Bride's wedding dress shop, Jincheng motorcycle shop, Times Supermarket, KFC restaurant … make this street very lively. Spacious buses and fashionable cars fly by on the road from time to time. Kindly grandparents stamped their feet and watched leisurely, and lovely children jumped and became the scenery in my eyes. Looking further south, the straight asphalt road is endless, as if it leads to the horizon. According to my mother, Wu Ying Road used to be less beautiful. In the past, a narrow street was full of potholes and yellow land, and cycling would keep shaking. You must be very careful when it rains. If you accidentally step on a hole, you will twist your foot. If you can't help bumping into a brick (loose paving brick), you will be shocked by mud and cement all over your legs. There are not as many shops on both sides of the street as there are now. They are all low-rise bungalows, that is, buildings with at most two floors, and there are not many kinds of goods in the shops. Nowadays, LCD TVs, mobile phones and laptops, which almost everyone runs all over the street, were extremely rare ten or twenty years ago. Further on, when my grandparents were teenagers, these things were even invisible. No wonder grandma often touches my head and says heavily, "Baby, you have caught up with the good times." Treasure it! "
Earth-shaking changes have made Xinghua full of vigor and vitality, and thousands of years of history have added infinite color to this ancient city. Shi Naian, the author of Water Margin, one of the "Seven Scholars of Ming Dynasty", Liu Xizai, who has the reputation of "Oriental Hegelian School", and Han Zhen, a saint in the East China Sea, are all from Xinghua. Zheng Banqiao, the "Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou", once wrote a famous sentence of "Hard-working, unyielding, and letting the east, west, north and south prevail", which is the pride of our Xinghua.
Today is the 60th birthday of the great motherland. I hope the beautiful Xinghua, my dream water town, will take off with the dragon of the motherland!
