Barracks Folk Song Singing10 (June 2006-16)
Some people call it forest metal, others call it severe winter metal ... No words can describe the sadness of Empyrium's music. It is the sorrow of life, which is inevitable and irreversible. It is grief beyond life, like the spirit of the forest, swaying quietly for thousands of years.
1999 This is the band's pure folk album after the release of two metal albums, which is comparable to Ulver's Kveldsjanger and is called the best two metal band folk albums. A legend about ghosts was told a long time ago, and the lyrics were beautiful and picturesque. Through the accompaniment of acoustic guitar, it is clear as water and sweet to the heart.
Although the band was founded in 1992, it was not until 1996 that their first album "A Winter Sunset" was released. The sun shines obliquely on the quiet pine forest. The roots of pine forests are covered with thick snow. Clouds are soft and warm orange, like a child standing beside his mother. The quiet box piano and the long flute are stirring inside, standing on tiptoe with initial hope. After many twists and turns, the broken drum slowly penetrated, outlined with oil paints and set off with lines, and placed in the depths of the Nordic snowfield, where tall and straight pine and fir trees grew, as if the scenery on the cover. This is the first pure instrumental music "Moon Romanticism", full-bodied cello, violin's sorrow and sadness, flute's distance, and the embellishment of drums. Markus sang a piece of folk metal with Nordic characteristics in a rich black voice. Like a brave man leading an iron horse, riding a war horse, facing the enemy with fearless eyes and vigorous posture. Although the first album has traces of heavy metals, its lyrics are full of Empyrium's singing of nature and Naimu's shrugging, Reese, Bare Tree and Sunincarnate. What used to be green is now gray, and what is autumn … is my heart …
A year later, Empyrium released his second album Song of the Wasteland and the Foggy Field. Although there are only six songs, almost every song is 8 to 9 minutes long except the introduction "When the shadow becomes longer". The opening song was brought out by the recitation of piano, flute, cello and Marcus. Compared with the first album, the metal part is weakened, and the tone lingers in sadness. Accompanied by the violin, Marcus sounded like a trapped animal in a cage, sometimes curled up wearily in the darkness of the prison, lamenting the memory in the mountains and moaning about his infatuation with the foothills. Sometimes I am eager to get rid of the fence of the cage and get ready for an opportunity to hit the cage made of steel with my strong body. What was once a low sip sometimes turned into ecstasy singing and roaring screaming. In particular, the last song "Silent Ensemble", which appeared alternately in various ways, was perfectly combined, pushing this sad and beautiful feeling to the extreme.
Some people call it melancholy metal, others call it forest metal. They sing the natural cycle with music and vent their sad romance. They are Empyrium, a medieval orchestra from Munich.
Listening to Empyrium's music is like enjoying a wonderful spiritual journey. I am not an expressive person. How can I put it? Sometimes it's like exploring in ghost city alone. Deeply attracted by the mysterious darkness, I am lonely but will not lose my support, sad but will not despair; Even if I sometimes have a premonition that I will never return, I still enjoy the wonderful life with great interest. Sometimes I feel like a saint, silently watching the cycle of everything in the world from a height, feeling that time flies and life is impermanent. Flowers will eventually wither, and the joys and sorrows of life cannot escape the final death. But it is precisely because of setbacks and failures, death and despair that people have deeper expectations for beauty and stronger love.
Empyrium, when cruelly leading people into the dark forest of despair, has planted a beautiful hope for you in your heart. ...
Finally, by the way, we may have a problem with classifying Empyrium as a new folk song. I don't think black gold, forest metal and folk songs matter. The important thing is that they really brought us a lot of thoughts and surprises.
