Haining has continuously increased the protection of shadow play, and has invested more than 2.5 million yuan to rescue, protect and inherit Haining's shadow play. Haining Jiangnan Shadow Play Art Troupe Co., Ltd. was established (later renamed Haining Shadow Play Art Troupe Co., Ltd.), and Haining Shadow Play Theatre was established in Haining Leather City and Yan Guan Tide Viewing Scenic Area, and performances were held all year round. According to the characteristics and present situation of the shadow play project in Haining, the five-year protection plan is tailored and the specific requirements of "eight ones" are clearly put forward. In 2008, Haining Shadow Play Art Troupe Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Qian Jiangchao Tourism Co., Ltd. and Xieqiao Town Central Primary School were listed as intangible cultural heritage inheritance and protection bases to carry out the inheritance, performance and teaching of Haining Shadow Play. In 2009, the recording and video recording project of traditional plays of Haining Shadow Play was started. So far, 38 traditional plays have been recorded and recorded and 70 music scores have been arranged. In 20 1 1 year, the protection of shadow play in Haining was included in the Twelfth Five-Year Protection and Development Plan of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Haining (20 1 1-20 15), and the industrialization development goals and operation modes of non-governmental organizations such as Haining Shadow Play Art Troupe were clearly formulated.

Through years of efforts, the protection and inheritance of shadow play in Haining has achieved good results. Haining Shadow Play has been invited to perform in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Zhoushan and other places, and has traveled all over the country, and also to New Zealand, Taiwan Province Province and other places to carry out foreign cultural exchanges. From June, 5438 to February, 2006, Haining Shadow Play "Cockfighting" won the gold medal in the second Quyi Acrobatics (Film) Festival in Zhejiang Province, Naolong Palace won the silver prize in the second Quyi Acrobatics (Film) Festival in Zhejiang Province, and Naolong Palace won the bronze prize in the third Golden Lion Award International Puppet Shadow Play Competition 20 10.
