Yancheng is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province and one of the 27 cities in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta. It is located in the eastern coast of China, in the middle of Jiangsu Province, bordering the Yellow Sea in the east, Nantong in the south, Yangzhou and Taizhou in the southwest, Huai 'an in the northwest and Lianyungang across the Guanhe River in the north. Yancheng has a total land area of 1693 1 km2, of which the coastal beach area is 4,553 km2. It has Jiangsu's only world natural heritage-China Yellow Sea (Bohai Sea) migratory bird habitat.
According to the results of the seventh national census in Jiangsu Province, as of 0: 00 1 1 on June 2020, the permanent population of Yancheng City was 6,709,629. In 2020, Yancheng will achieve a regional GDP of 595.338 billion yuan.
Yancheng has convenient land, sea and air transportation, and basically formed a five-in-one three-dimensional transportation network of expressway, railway, aviation, sea transportation and inland river shipping. Nanyang International Airport, Yancheng Port Dafeng Port Area, Binhai Port Area, Sheyang Port Area and Xiangshui Port Area have become national first-class open ports. Yancheng City has become a prefecture-level city with both airport and seaport, and it is the intersection of national coastal development and Yangtze River Delta integration.
