1. Divide a piece of red A4 colored paper into four parts. Fold each copy in half three times, then open it and adjust it into creases, so that they present a positive-negative-positive-negative zigzag. Fold the colored paper in half and draw a semicircle, paying attention to a small piece in the middle, so that the paper will not be cut when cutting.
2. Cut off the excess colored paper along the drawn arc, and then expand it into a continuous ellipse with semicircles at the left and right ends. Glue the cut oval combination along the straight long side (this is to make the small lanterns gather towards the center), and just glue it in the middle, instead of gluing the whole semicircle.
3. After the four semicircles are glued together, put a line of glue on the vertical long side to combine them. Take a piece of yellow colored paper, cut it into thin strips at one side, then put a string in the middle of the yellow paper, roll it up from one end, make it into tassels (ears), and fix it with glue. Put the finished tassel in the middle of the lantern, and then stick two pieces of colored paper with glue.
The significance of China lanterns:
China Lantern, also known as Lantern, is an ancient traditional handicraft of Han nationality. After thousands of years of development, lanterns have formed different regional styles, and each lantern has its own unique artistic expression. Every year around the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, people hang red lanterns symbolizing reunion to create a festive atmosphere.
Lantern is a combination of painting, paper-cutting, paper binding, acupuncture and other technologies, which is closely related to people's lives in China. Lanterns have become a symbol of happiness for the people of China. Through the inheritance and development of lantern artists in past dynasties, colorful varieties and exquisite craftsmanship have been formed.
