Yangshuo is adjacent to Gongcheng County and Pingle County in the east, Lipu City in the south, Yongfu County and Lingui District in the west, and lingchuan county and Yanshan District in the north. The county seat is 65 kilometers away from downtown Guilin, with a total area of 1436 square kilometers and 20,000 hectares of cultivated land. The county has a total population of 308,300, governs 6 towns and 3 townships, and has Han, Zhuang, Yao, Hui and other ethnic groups 1.
The landform of Yangshuo county is mainly rocky mountains and hills, supplemented by mountains. The terrain on the northeast and southwest sides is relatively high, belonging to the marginal zone of Dayang Mountain (Dongyao Mountain) and Jiaqiaoling Mountain (Xiyao Mountain). The mountain range is roughly northwest-southeast, which is the birthplace of the main rivers and streams in the county.
Yangshuo County is only 65 kilometers away from Guilin, connected by secondary roads, reaching Liuzhou, Nanning and Beihai in the south and Wuzhou and Guangzhou in the southeast. Guilin-Wuzhou Expressway has been opened to traffic, and Yangshuo has three entrances and exits, namely Grape, Baisha and Gaotian, which can directly reach the northern part of Guilin and Lijiang Scenic Area along the expressway.
Singing and fasting are the first performing arts among the people in Yangshuo County. Since the reign of Emperor Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, 24 stages, such as Welfare Palace Stage, Xingping Vu Thang Palace Stage, Gaotian Guandi Temple Stage and Xianchengjiang Guild Hall, have been built one after another, and opera performances are quite active.
