Jingdong Yi Autonomous County belongs to Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province, located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, at the northern end of Pu 'er City, east longitude10022'-1kloc-0/15', north latitude 23 56'-24 29', and east with Nanhua County and Shuang Shan of Chuxiong City.
It is adjacent to Zhenyuan Yi, Hani and Lahu Autonomous County in the south, across the Lancang River from Yunxian County in the west, and connected to Nanjian Yi Autonomous County and Midu County in the north. Jinping Town, where the county seat is located, is 477 kilometers away from Kunming, the provincial capital, and 279 kilometers away from Pu 'er City.

Jingdong Yi Autonomous County is located at the southern end of Hengduan Mountains. The main mountain ranges belong to Wuliang Mountain System and Ailao Mountain System, which run north and south in Yunling. The terrain is narrow in the north and wide in the south.
It belongs to subtropical monsoon climate, and the rivers are Lancang River system and Honghe River system. There are two national nature reserves, Wuliangshan and Ailaoshan, and two large hydropower stations with a million kilowatts level, Manwan and Dachaoshan.
