Yingpixar website Presumably, this is just a design, not a real stills, but we can still get a glimpse of this Pixar cartoon that we know little about.
Up tells the story of a 70-year-old man traveling around the world with a little ranger who knows nothing, fighting monsters and bad guys. Pete Docter, the director of this film, directed Monster Company, and bob peterson, a senior director of Pixar, also directed and wrote the script together. Pixar described the film like this: "The old man became friends with a young ranger, but they often bickered and kept a strict schedule while taking risks, such as always having dinner at 3: 30 pm."
Earlier, some people speculated that this was a replica story of Don Quixote.
Most of the stories in "Travels around the Flying House" take place in the jungles of South America. In order to create an inaccessible and amazing fantasy landscape, the company specially set up an elite work team for this film. At the same time, Travels around the Flying House will be the first Pixar animated 3D movie.
abstract
Up tells the adventure story of an old man and a young man. Cane Frederiskson, an old man, dreamed of traveling around the world all his life and living a plain life. At the last stage of Carl's life, as if by fate, he and an 8-year-old finally embarked on an adventure. The strange combination of "veterans" roamed the rivers and lakes side by side, and * * * experienced the wilderness trek and the sniper of the jungle beast villain. The child is a China boy wearing a red scarf.
Director introduction
Peter Docott, the director of this film, directed Monster, and bob peterson, a veteran of Pixar, will co-direct and write the script. This movie is also Pixar's first 3D movie, and all Pixar movies will be made into 3D movies. Pixar described the film like this: "The old man became friends with a young ranger, but they often bickered and kept a strict schedule while taking risks, such as always having dinner at 3: 30 pm." Because Pixar's "Kawara Tsutomu" has won a lot of praise this year, and its reputation is superb, which also brings a lot of pressure to the production team of the new film. Most of the stories in up take place in the jungles of South America. In order to create an amazing landscape and a strange and mysterious plant form, Disney/Pixar set up an elite working team for this film, striving to create the most perfect visual effect. Director Peter Docott directed Monster, and Pixar senior director bob peterson will co-direct and write the script. From the visual effect of the balloon and the sound of the cabin in the video, we can still see the vivid image of Pixar in detail and strive for perfection. As two movable houses, I wonder what kind of legend Pixar's cabin has compared with Hal's mobile castle?
Interview the director
The following is an exclusive interview with the website of Animation World magazine by the director of this film:
Q: This movie is obviously very different from Monster Company. What are the challenges of this trip?
A: I haven't finished it yet. Let's talk about it later. I think the trick is to grasp the intersection of reality and fantasy. Most of the film takes place in the jungles of South America. The amazing Tepui tabletop mountains in Venezuela actually exist, but people have never heard of them. So you will see those strange and mysterious plant appearances. One of them is very special. It has curved leaves and branches, and a prickly ball at the top. It looks like it belongs to Monster Company. But it's true! So the key is how to show the audience a place they have never been before, and (the audience may say) they are inventing new things again? In fact, we still want to create another feeling, that is, let them happen in our real world-this is not Dorothy's arrival in Oz. From this point of view, it poses a greater challenge to the design.
Q: What helped you meet this design challenge?
A: Research. We have a team of 12 people who have been to that place. We took many photos and drew many hand-drawn sketches. Although you may not be familiar with that kind of plant, I think there will be a belief that makes you feel like you are in this real nature. You begin to realize (what originally existed in nature) and (what originally seemed so beautiful). Yes, all those (software) tools that give you three-dimensional light and texture have really played a great role, and we are still trying to do it. This is a very interesting job.
Q: What will happen to the creatures they meet?
A: Again, we are trying to achieve a goal, that is, the audience will say "I have never seen this, but I believe it is true".
Q: According to Pixar's story expansion, it is very important for you to explore the theme of the elderly. I know that you had close contact with Joe Grant in his later years, and I want to know his influence on Up.
A: Well, on more than one level, he reflects the image of Carl's wife Ellie. She is full of energy for life, always looking for new things and curious about everything. But his biggest influence lies in his quirks: his posture and the way he treats himself. I actually made this story for him, and he praised it later.
Q: Why is Carl's head square at first glance?
A: Yes, it is designed according to his personality: contrary to Joe, he insists on his own way, and I like it. He has had the same breakfast for the past 50 years, and he has a fixed schedule, so what happened suddenly finally upset him.
Q: Is there a connection between Russell and Carl?
A: Yes.
