During the hundred years of Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong, the central government of the Qing Dynasty fought frequently with the ministries of northwest Mongolia and the Uighur headquarters, and finally put down the rebellion of Mongolian Elut and its headquarters in the middle of Qianlong, which made the northwest border a relatively stable peace situation. Therefore, Emperor Qianlong selected Chinese and foreign painters headed by Lang Shining among the court painters and created a series of epic paintings. In the 19th year of Qianlong (A.D. 1754), Che Ling, Che Ling Upas, Che Ling Monk (collectively known as Sancheling) and Amur Sana, the leader of the Whit Department of Errut Mongols, surrendered to the Qing Dynasty, and Emperor Qianlong held a grand ceremony to celebrate. At that time, 66-year-old Lang Shining and two other European missionary painters, Wang Zhicheng and ignatius Szicher Bart, rushed to Chengde and painted many oil paintings of Mongolian surrender leaders. Later, according to the materials collected during this trip, Lang Shining and other Chinese and foreign painters * * * completed two large-scale historical paintings: The Night Banquet at Wanshu Garden in Qianlong (collected by the Palace Museum in Beijing) and The Horse Riding in Qianlong (collected by the Palace Museum in Beijing). After the completion of these two paintings, they were posted on the east and west walls of the "Juana Shengjing" Hall in the summer resort.
177 1 painted a picture of the unification of various laws, which reflected the scene that Emperor Qianlong met with Warbashi, the leader of Mongolian Tuerhu Department who came from far away from Russia, in the "Unification of Various Laws" Hall of Zongcheng Temple in Putuo, Chengde.
