Qingzhou Zhenjiao Temple is located in Zhao Jie Street, where Hui people live in Chengguan, Qingzhou City. Zhenjue Temple is a famous Islamic temple in China with a large scale, unique form and a long history. According to the inscription in the temple, the Huimin Temple was built by the descendants of Bo Yan in the Yuan Dynasty in the first year of Dade (A.D. 1302). According to Qingzhou Zhao's genealogy, Zhao is a descendant of Yuan Dynasty and Yang is a descendant of Chaer people. The portrait is hidden in Yang Qingzhou's home. After liberation, it was sent to the provincial museum for preservation and was designated as a treasure of the Yuan Dynasty. It shows that there were a large number of Muslims living in Qingzhou in the Yuan Dynasty, as well as some official families, and Zhenjue Temple was built. Zhenjue Temple is an early name of Islam. In the Yuan Dynasty, Islam had no fixed name in China, including pure, true religion and pure consciousness. It was not until the middle of Ming Dynasty that mosque became the proper name of Islam in China. Some researchers in Islamic history regard Qingzhou Zhenjue Temple as one of the three major Islamic temples in Yuan Dynasty (Qingzhou Zhenjue Temple, Hangzhou Zhenjue Temple and Dingzhou Zhenjue Temple).
Qingzhou Zhenjue Temple has been rebuilt and expanded many times since it was founded in the Yuan Dynasty. It has experienced many vicissitudes, but the building has not been greatly damaged. The restored Zhenjue Temple has maintained its original features. It is one of the famous places of interest in Qingzhou and an important place for tourism and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. Many Arab guests come to visit and worship every year. Zhenjue Temple is a large-scale and unique building in China and Arab countries. The whole temple covers an area of 6,000 square meters, with a building area of 2,000 square meters. Sit west to east, from low to high, and climb the stairs. The main gate, the second gate, the worship hall and the moon tower are arranged on an east-west central axis, which is symmetrically arranged left and right. There are north and south schools, north and south halls and three hospitals. It has the characteristics of symmetry, harmony, solemnity and generosity of China palace-style classical architecture, with main body and foil. Qingzhou Zhenjue Temple is the center of Islamic activities in eastern Shandong in history, and many well-known Islamic imams in China go to Zhenjue Temple to give lectures.
At present, there are nearly 20,000 Muslims living around the temple, and there are more than 10 imams in the temple. During the festival, the Muslim people gathered in the temple to listen to the Imam preaching teachings and attend the festival ceremony, and the atmosphere was very warm. The opening of Zhenjue Temple is of great significance for correctly implementing the Party's ethnic policy, strengthening ethnic unity, enhancing the friendship among ethnic groups and developing the national economy. It is of certain value to the study of Islam, national history and architectural art.
