During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, ethnic minorities such as Li, Yao, Zhuang, Quan, Dong and Miao lived in Nanhezhou. In order to stabilize the frontier, the Tang Dynasty appointed the native Chen Wenyu as the state secretariat. During Chen Wenyu's term of office, he thoroughly investigated the bureaucracy, patrolled the territory, eliminated the sufferings of the people, coexisted politics and religion, lived and worked in peace and contentment, made the people rich, and changed their customs greatly. In addition to implementing the policy of virtue, Yu Wen deeply feels that the country is an important place in the south, and there are things in the four seas, which is a battleground for military strategists. In order to make Li Shu peaceful, he carried out a major overhaul of the city. If public funds were insufficient, he donated his salary without wasting people's money. He also changed the name of ancient Taizhou to Leizhou. The name of Leizhou began in the eighth year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (AD 634) and is still in use today.
Leizu Temple was built in the 16th year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty, and it has been over 1350 years. There are many records in local chronicles, such as Liu's Records of Wonders in the Tang Dynasty, Souzi Ji in Taiping in the Song Dynasty, Xinyu and Yu Wuyu in Guangdong who visited fire of life in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, the gods of contemporary China entering other worlds, and the worship of China. Leizhou Drum Club, one of the world-famous "Four Wonders in the World" (Leizhou Drum Club, Qiantang River Tide, Guangde Burial and Dengzhou Haicheng), is a folklorist who happened in Lei Zuci's ci. "Changing drums in Leizhou" is a grand "incense ceremony" held by ancient Leizhou people in Leizu Cave. "Lei Zuzhi" said: "As for ... thunder cars, thunder drums and the like, they are all hidden in temples with stone tablets and made by people in the county as servants. On the first day of the Yuan Dynasty, officials from the civil and military departments in the state of Qi sent them to sacrifice to merchants, which was called "Lei Kai". And hold a banquet-the government and the people have fun together, and live in groups with good weather. Otherwise, they will be ill-fated and treated, and the silver will enjoy the blessing of the country. " A new saying in Guangdong says, "On June 24th, Leizhou people will give Leigu a just thunder, and the poem will win the ink of Leigong. If it is as bright as paint, it will cure evil and shake the bottom. " "Leigongmo" is a kind of meteorite, which was called "Leigongshi" or "because of keeping heroes" by ancient Leizhou people, and was regarded as a thing to ward off evil spirits and avoid disasters. It can be seen that the ancient Leizhou people regarded Leigong as something that could benefit or reduce disasters. The regime change in Leizhou has long been lost, and contemporary Leizhou people can only get a glimpse of it from ancient books.
