In the seventh episode of the original book, we learned from the mouth of Friar Sand that he changed from a general who commanded heaven to a small demon in this mortal quicksand river because he was knocked down by a glass by mistake and was pierced by a flying sword every day, and I saw it here every time.
Everyone will definitely think that the Jade Emperor is a little too melodramatic. Is it not just a glass? Is heaven still short of this cup, regardless of the past mutual affection, indeed as expected even the emperor of heaven can not escape this ruthlessness! In fact, maybe everyone has overlooked one thing. Cups are naturally used to hold things. Since there is nothing precious in the cup, there must be something mysterious about it!
When the Buddhist scripture team passed by the Liusha River, they heard from nearby villagers that there was a bully who lived in this river all the year round and especially loved to eat human flesh. Almost everyone who passed by the river was swallowed up by him, far exceeding the "nine monks" that everyone often said. Maybe there was nothing to eat in this quicksand river, or it was not to my taste, so I was hungry and ate this human flesh. Presumably, it's not the first time that Tathagata sent someone to this Buddhist sutra project, but every time he went to this Liusha River, he was filled with sand monk, which ruined the plan.
Therefore, some people speculate that this goods must be undercover sent by the Jade Emperor. The original unkindness was nothing but a bitter plan, but if he was undercover, he wouldn't be stupid enough to tell Guanyin all the details. If he is undercover, he will sabotage it when he becomes a member of the Buddhist sutra team. Unfortunately, he didn't do it!
I remember that when the Bodhisattva came here, Friar Sand wanted to go up and eat her without saying anything, but after Guanyin showed his identity, he immediately knelt in front of Guanyin and told him how painful he was with his nose and tears, but even so, he didn't want the Bodhisattva to ask for help.
On the other hand, Wukong and Bajie, as soon as they saw the Bodhisattva, cried out to the Bodhisattva for mercy and help them! Friar Sand, on the other hand, came to the door on his own initiative and offered to help him get out of his misery and restore his official position, but only if he completed his task with Buddhist scriptures. Friar Sand readily agreed. I also asked the bodhisattva, how can I find the Zen master if I don't take this road? This shows that Friar Sand is still very concerned about his future.
