The new campus of Pingliang No.1 Middle School covers an area of 397 mu, which is the first implementation of the construction project. The commercial housing project of Chongwen Bookstore covers an area of 539 mu, facing the new campus of Pingliang No.1 Middle School in the east, the Jinghe landscape belt in the north and the 56 1 mu wetland park across the water. It is planned to build 44 high-rise residential buildings, inner street businesses, kindergartens and underground parking garages.

Pingliang No.1 Middle School was founded in 1905. It was once the second middle school in Gansu Province and one of the earliest middle schools in the province.
