They are the classics of China drum music, which have aesthetic characteristics in form, sound, music and performance. In the historical development, it absorbed the essence of drum music art in different times and finally developed into the "No.1 drum in the world" we see today, which is magnificent, impassioned and bold. Jinnan Weifeng gongs and drums are traditional percussion instruments of Han nationality played with four instruments in Linfen area. The magnificent gongs and drums are mainly distributed in southern Shanxi, especially in huozhou city, Hong Tong and Fenxi County of Linfen. Because drums are thunderous, cymbals are crisp and gongs are dull and majestic, it is called majestic gongs and drums. Huozhou is the hometown of majestic gongs and drums, and Huozhou has the reputation of "the first drum in China". On May 20th, 2006, Jinnan prestige gongs and drums were approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
