Yangping Town is the main throat leading to Xiangyang, Yichang and Jingmen, about 60 kilometers away from Yichang Three Gorges, and the provincial second-class highway Huodang Line passes through the territory. The copper mine is rich in reserves and extremely high in purity. Juhe River is one of the three major rivers in Yuan 'an County, which flows through the whole town 10 villages, and is currently undergoing cascade hydropower development.
