The pinyin version of Gao Shi's Listening to Xiao in the Bunker in the Tang Dynasty is as follows:

Hello, Xu, hello, hello.

Snow-clean horses graze in the daytime, and Qiangdi guards the building in the moonlight.

Givin May Huey chuī and Lu.

Where is the plum blossom balance? The wind blew all over the mountain overnight.

The northwest frontier was blocked, the ice and snow melted, and the soldiers came back to swim. At night, in the moonlight, the soldiers on the sentry post played melodious Qiangdi. Where does the sentimental "plum blossom tune" drift? It's like plum blossoms falling on the mountain with the wind.

Creation background

This poem was written by Gao Shi when he joined the army in the northwest frontier, when he was in the Geshuhan shogunate. Gao Shi has been to the border crossing many times. He left the frontier twice, once to Liaoyang and once to Hexi, and had a profound experience of frontier life.

This seven-character quatrain, from the real scene of snowy moonlight to the virtual scene of plum blossom, is full of truth and harmony, and together * * * has built a wonderful and far-reaching artistic conception. The homesickness in the poem is implicit and meaningful, euphemistic and deep, which makes people memorable.
