I. Introduction
Tancheng Xuzhuang is located at the southernmost tip of Shandong Province, at the junction of Su Ru, bordering Pizhou, Xinyi and Donghai in the south of Linjiang, Jiangsu Province, and Linshu, Hedong, Luo Zhuang and Lanling counties in Linyi City in the north. It is an important traffic artery connecting Nandamen, Qilu and Jianghuai areas in Shandong Province.
The establishment of Tancheng began in the Yan State in Xia and Shang Dynasties and evolved into the Tancheng State in the Spring and Autumn Period. Tancheng County was established in Qin Dynasty, renamed Donghai County in Han Dynasty and Tancheng County in Tang Dynasty. Tancheng has long been the seat of the secretariat of Tanxian, Donghai and Xuzhou, and is the birthplace of ancient Xu culture.

Tancheng is one of the 100 major grain-producing counties in China, and is known as the "granary in southern Shandong". It has been successively rated as the national advanced county in grain production, the national advanced county in plain greening, the national advanced county in culture, the excellent eco-tourism county in China, the famous green county in China, the national advanced county in scientific and technological progress, the national garden county, the hometown of ginkgo biloba in China and the hometown of willow in China.
In 2020, Tancheng County will administer 16 townships (streets, development zones and scenic spots), 1 14 rural communities,1/urban communities and 6 16 villages. According to the data of the seventh census, as of 0: 00 1 1 in June 2020, the permanent population of Tancheng County was 885 156.
