Where is Xiaolangdi Reservoir?
Xiaolangdi is a hydropower station on the Yellow River, located in Jinmeng District, Luoyang City, Henan Province. It is also a national 4A-level scenic spot, which is divided into four scenic spots: Xixia Lake, Daba Wetland Park, Zhang Ling Peninsula Resort and Three Gorges of the Yellow River.
The scenic spot is located in the center of Henan Golden Tourism Line, spanning the north and south banks, bordering Fenwei Basin in the west and North China Plain in the east. Located in the middle of northern Shanxi Province, the scenic spot is an ecological park featuring mountains, water, forests and grass, relying on the Xiaolangdi Project.
Dam Wetland Park covers an area of about 10 square kilometers, of which the water area accounts for 30%. Birds such as swans, egrets, mandarin ducks, black storks and white storks inhabit it, and the third bridge of Crescent Lake in the reserve behind the dam reflects the moon. Every July, Xiaolangdi carries out water and sediment regulation. At this time, you can enjoy the spectacular sight of how the Yellow River water moves out of the sky at close range. It is recommended to enter from the east gate and exit from the east gate. Xiaolangdi scenic spot is very large, and the east gate is closest to the dam outlet. If you are lucky, you can still see the rainbow. The best angle to see the dam flood discharge is to cross the bridge to the other side of the river and see the majestic momentum of flood discharge.
