The underground archway of Ming Zuling reappears.
20 1 1 On May 20th, 2008, the outer wall of the First Mausoleum of Ming Taizu, which had been sleeping under Hongze Lake for 300 years, surfaced, which was the most remarkable moment in history. Ming Zuling, located in Xuyi County, Jiangsu Province, is a national key cultural relics protection unit. This is the monument of Zhu Yuanzhang's great-grandfather, great-grandfather and Ming Taizu's grandfather and the actual burial place of his grandfather. In A.D. 1680, the Yellow River captured the Huaihe River, and Sizhou City and Ming Zuling were submerged at the bottom of Hongze Lake. It is reported that in order to protect the cultural relics (imperial edicts, clothes and various funerary objects) under the underground tunnels and archways, the local government urgently diverted water from the Huaihe River for irrigation, and the underground tunnels and archways of the Ming Zuling returned to the water.
