Second, Purdue in the Central Plains
Folklore says that after death, people will become ghosts and wander between heaven and earth. Purdue in the Central Plains is to worship the ghosts who have not sacrificed for future generations, so that they can also feel the warmth of the world, which is also an expression of the idea of "fraternity" in our traditional culture. People will put all kinds of sacrifices on these ghosts from July/KLOC-0 to 30 of the lunar calendar to pray for peace, good luck and good weather.
Third, the river lamp.
River lanterns, also known as "water lanterns" and "river lanterns", are also a traditional custom of our Chinese nation. River lanterns are also called lotus lanterns, because their bases are often made of paper and wood in the shape of lotus petals, and sometimes even directly made of lotus leaves. When setting off river lanterns, people light lamps or candles on lamp holders, so that they can float and sink beautifully in rivers, lakes and oceans. Legend has it that all the dead people can cross the ideal world on the other side.
Fourth, put the flame mouth.
Burning a flaming mouth is a Buddhist ceremony, which is a hungry ghost-eating ceremony to save the hungry ghost in the flaming mouth according to the Great Rani Sutra.
