Interview with Pu 'er Daily in Simao No.1 Middle School on Education and Teaching Reform in Simao No.1 Middle School
Take off at the new starting line reporter Yang Lixian

Reporter: Simao No.1 Middle School is a century-old prestigious school. All along, the school has made remarkable achievements in education and teaching, which has been well received by all walks of life. Why did Simao No.1 Middle School (Experimental Middle School) carry out a series of reforms?

School: the reform of middle school education is a hot topic in today's times. This huge and arduous task needs many people to explore constantly. It is very important to sum up a set of educational methods that middle school students are willing to accept and help them grow up happily.

Junior high school is an important stage of a student's learning career, which plays a connecting role from primary school to senior high school. Therefore, junior high school teaching has also been widely concerned by the society. Simao No.1 Middle School is a century-old prestigious school. Over the years, with the care and support of governments at all levels and the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the education and teaching work has made remarkable achievements and won praise from all walks of life, but it is not satisfied with the status quo. From school leaders to teaching staff, we are constantly exploring and studying better teaching methods, striving to create a good learning environment for students, and building a happy, independent and efficient learning platform for students, so that students can enjoy learning, parents can rest assured and society can be satisfied.

Reporter: What are the main aspects of the teaching reform implemented in experimental middle schools this year?

School: With the progress of society, the old educational methods can no longer fully meet the needs of modern students, and educational reform has become an inevitable trend. The content of this teaching reform is mainly aimed at some bad phenomena and problems existing in the education, teaching and management of the school. Details are as follows:

First, homework: Under normal circumstances, students do homework after school, and it is difficult to solve problems that they don't understand in time. Even if some students call to ask their classmates, they often just ask about the process or the result, don't know "why", and some don't ask at all, and go to school the next day to catch up or copy. It is also difficult for teachers to find problems when correcting homework, and they are often kept in the dark. When they found out, it was "Rome wasn't built in a day", and students' learning has shown huge loopholes; Some students think hard about problems and waste a lot of time, resulting in low learning efficiency. At the same time, in the traditional teaching method, the homework assigned today will be handed in tomorrow, and it will not be returned for revision until the third day or even longer after the teacher corrects it, which affects the learning effect of students. Students may also ignore "yesterday", lose "today", or simply ignore it.

Second, in terms of students' doubts, some students can't solve problems they don't understand in class, especially those who are partial subjects. They are too busy at night to deal with the homework assigned by the school and have no time to take care of the remedies of weak subjects, so they can only leave these "make-up" for the holidays, but they are often unsatisfactory until graduation because of too long time or other reasons.

Third, in family education: some parents accompany the "prince" to study for their children, even if they work hard, they will inevitably encourage students to rely on them; Some parents personally coach their children, and their knowledge is not too great, but the methods are worth studying. Often students only know one thing and don't know another.

Fourth, in extracurricular activities, the Ministry of Education has repeatedly asked students to participate in extracurricular activities. But at present, most schools finish classes around 5 o'clock, and then, either the teacher gives guidance, cleans up, has something to do in class, or catches up with homework (too much homework), and so on. Few students can guarantee to participate in extracurricular activities.

In order to eliminate these disadvantages in traditional teaching, Simao No.1 Middle School wants to explore new teaching methods through reform to achieve better teaching results.

Reporter: Indeed, these methods that are not conducive to improving students' learning efficiency in traditional education and teaching may also be problems that exist in many schools but are difficult to solve. So, how did Simao No.1 Middle School solve these problems?

School: In order to solve the above problems, after a period of investigation, reflection, exploration and summary, Simao No.1 Middle School has carried out a series of reforms in school teaching progress, curriculum, teaching process and target management.

Reporter: After the reform, has there been any change in the teaching arrangement of the school?

School: There are some changes. In order to liberate students' evening self-study time (so that students can make their own arrangements according to their own conditions), emancipate their parents and earnestly implement the spirit of all-round development of education, the school has made the following adjustments to students' study schedule:

Have the first class at 7: 25 in the morning and five classes in the morning, and leave school at 1 1: 45. The sixth class starts at 1 in the afternoon, and the seventh class ends at 2: 30 pm, and there are four classes from 2: 40 pm to 4: 00 pm, each class is 20 minutes. 4: 20 to 5: 20 is divided into activity class or tutorial class time.

Reporter: Is there any difference in the curriculum after the reform?

School: Chinese, Mathematics, English, Politics, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Biology, Information, Music, Fine Arts, Calligraphy, Labor Skills, Health and Physical Education *** 16 are offered according to the curriculum standards of the Ministry of Education. Considering the timeliness of homework, we also set up "homework class; In order to "finish the day's study on the same day", a "clear class" was set up; In order to help underachievers, a "remedial class" was established; For the all-round development of students, an "activity class" was set up.

Reporter: What are the differences between traditional teaching methods and teaching process?

School: There are seven aspects different from the traditional teaching methods in the teaching process: First, collective lesson preparation is implemented: teachers focus on basic knowledge, basic skills, basic ideas, depth, breadth, key points and difficulties, everyone contributes skills, and one person takes the lead to produce lesson plans (courseware) that gather everyone's wisdom for multimedia use.

Second, regular classes. Teachers in the same grade and subject hold the same lesson plan, assign the same homework and use the same test paper. Because most courses are taught by multimedia, teachers don't need to write on the blackboard in class, which not only saves a lot of time, but also enriches the teaching content, making it vivid and diverse, greatly mobilizing students' learning interest and enthusiasm, and effectively improving teaching efficiency.

Thirdly, the homework has been adjusted: ① The homework level is divided into three levels: A, B and C. The C level is required (everyone should do it), the B level is for students to choose during the cleaning class, and the A level is for students to choose at night. (2) the daily workload is controlled at about 90 minutes. There were too few or too many homework in the past, which greatly reduced the due role of homework. After the implementation of collective lesson preparation, all subjects can coordinate with each other, realize all-round macro-control of grades, and at the same time better grasp the rationality of homework. (3) Configuration inspection, shift inspection, weekly inspection and monthly inspection. There are requirements and acceptance. ④ Students should consider how gifted students can become better, how ordinary students can become the best, how underachievers can make up for their weaknesses, and how guerrillas can make up for the gap.

Fourth, the homework assigned by the main class is completed in the homework class, and the teacher helps in the classroom. In principle, students have questions that they don't understand and ask the teacher in the later period, and the unfinished homework is left to the class to continue. In this way, students can do their homework in front of the teacher and avoid copying homework or asking fake questions. If they don't understand, they can ask the teacher in class, thus ensuring the authenticity of the homework. At the same time, students who have not finished their homework in the homework class can continue to do it during the cleaning class. Ask questions in the cleaning class and hand in your homework after cleaning class. The teacher may correct and return the homework on the same day, so that students can see the homework on the same day and ensure the timeliness of the homework.

Fifth, define the class. Once in each subject, 20 minutes each time, 4 times a day, ***80 minutes. Take a five-minute break between classes. The homework of history, geography, health, beauty, labor, books and other subjects requires a clear hierarchy in the classroom. At the same time, there is a subject teacher after class every time. Students can ask the teacher if they don't understand, and continue to do their homework if they know. Those who have finished their homework can review, preview or choose to do B-file questions, plus "rice". When answering questions, teachers may also involve the content of the main course-the part that students don't understand, or the past knowledge, so as to really do a "trap". If the classroom test is not up to standard, it is required to "make up" during the class cleaning. At the end of the class cleaning, each class is required to complete at least 90% (lower limit) or 95% (upper limit) of the learning tasks of the day. The total time for students to do homework and ask questions at school is about 120 minutes.

Fifth, cram schools. Those who haven't finished cleaning up the problems after class will go to the remedial class. The counseling for these students begins with the basic knowledge and the content of the classroom teaching that day. Such students are not allowed to attend activity classes at least temporarily.

Sixth, activity classes. Those who finish the study tasks of the day at the end of the cleaning will take part in activity classes. The activity time is from 4: 20 to 5: 20. In principle, everyone participates and the project is optional. Formally, take the class as the unit, participate in the specified project, or choose the project from the interests. The purpose is to make students feel fun, interesting, happy and meaningful. The activities include basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton, aerobics, dance, martial arts, painting, calligraphy, handicrafts, insects, computers, etiquette, chorus, instrumental music, tea ceremony, shooting, English fun clubs, interest groups for physics and chemistry students, literary clubs, scientific and technological inventions, cooking, track and field, etc. Let students choose their favorite sports, strengthen their advantages with their specialties, and have "good" training (laying the foundation for the college entrance examination); Instruct students who have no specialties to choose at least one specialty subject and become their own specialty after three years; Establish various teams and interest groups according to the students' situation; Hold various interesting lectures on history, geography and health. Through the setting of these activity classes, we can effectively implement the requirements of the Ministry of Education for middle school students' extracurricular activities, better control students' extracurricular time, guide positive entertainment and effectively avoid bad entertainment.

Seventh, further improve the school rules and regulations in management, improve the evaluation system and performance management system of schools, teams, teachers and students, and pay attention to logistics management and campus culture construction.

In a word, through a series of reforms, Lieutenant General Simao No.1 truly regards quality as life, parents as God and students as parents, and wins a good reputation and rapid development of the school with excellent quality. Make the school's education and teaching more scientific, reasonable and orderly, see actual results, produce high efficiency, and finally achieve the purpose of reassuring the society, satisfying parents and maximizing students' gains.

Simao No.1 Middle School (experimental middle school) not only inherits the glorious tradition of a century-old prestigious school, but also strives for perfection through continuous reform and continuous innovation and development. This is a school full of vigor and vitality.
