First, the material, if edited, and finally the VCD. The video collected should be 640*480, which is better. If it is really 320*240, it will be unclear after editing. The format of the video is AVI, which is large, but it is lossless and does not affect the clarity. MPEG, VCD and other formats are best not to be used.
The second is editing software. What you say is sometimes clear and sometimes vague. It's the software. Painting sound and painting shadow itself is a toy-level software, plus your material is not good, it is normal that there is something wrong with the output. For example, water wave interference, poor playback and so on. Video editing software premiere does not have these problems.
Third, recording software: the sound and shadow are mainly for video, and the recording is unprofessional. The traditional burning software is nero. You buy a burner with a CD-ROM software. Might as well be used as a vcd. Of course, if you want to make DVDs, you need to register nero, but you can't make DVDs for free. Select and draw AVI format of audio and video output, and make VCD video directly with nero.
Fourth, the sound and shadow are not perfect, and there are many problems, so a version has been updated in the past decade. But the fundamental problem still cannot be solved. Tractors, for example, can't be upgraded as cars!
