First Coming to Baidicheng is a four-line poem written by Li Bai, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, when he was pardoned during his exile. It is one of Li Bai's most popular poems. In the second year of Gan Yuan, Tang Suzong (759), the poet exiled Yelang and went to Bai Di for forgiveness. From time to time, he took a boat back to Jiangling to write this poem. The poem is about the Yangtze River from Bai Di to Jiangling, where the water is fast and ships are flying.
