Fenggang Town is located at the southeast end of Dongguan City, adjacent to Longgang, Henggang, Pinghu and Guanlan in Shenzhen in the east, south and west. The total area of the town is 82.5 square kilometers. Fenggang Town, Dongguan, was called Li Tangdong in ancient times. In the early years of the Republic of China, Fenggang Xinxu was built and later renamed Fenggang Town.
During the Republic of China, the area under the jurisdiction of Fenggang was 103 square kilometers. In the early days of liberation, some villages in Pinghu Town, Guanlan Town and adjacent Tangxia Town and Qingxi Town of Baoan County were included.
