Dragon Dance, commonly known as Dragon Lantern, is a traditional folk cultural activity of the Han nationality that originated in China. Dragon dance originated from the ancient people's worship of dragons. During the festival, people will dance dragons, starting from the Spring Festival, and then "dragon heads up" in February and the Dragon Boat Festival.
When dancing the dragon, the dragon follows the hydrangea to make various movements, interspersed, and constantly shows various postures such as twisting, waving, leaning back, kneeling, jumping and shaking. Therefore, dragon dancing to pray for peace and harvest has become a folk culture of Han people all over the country.
In ancient times, dragon and lion dances were one of the programs of large festivals in a year. With the emigration of Chinese to other parts of the world, the dragon and lion dance culture has spread all over Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand, and has become an important symbol of Chinese culture.
Dragon dance refers to a traditional sports activity in which the dragon dancer, under the guidance of the dragon ball, holds dragon tools and is accompanied by drum music, and through the changes of human movements and postures, completes the dragon swimming, wearing, jumping, turning, rolling, beating, winding, group painting and modeling, and fully displays the essence, spirit, qi and rhyme of the dragon.
