Rong 'an County is located in the north of Liuzhou, with higher terrain in the northeast and lower terrain in the southwest. Yongfu and Lingui counties (districts) in the east, Liucheng and Luzhai counties in the south, Rongshui county in the west and Sanjiang and Longsheng counties in the north.

The climate in this county is mild. Rongan county has a subtropical monsoon climate. Rong 'an County is one of the "four famous towns" in modern Guangxi, and is known as "Little Liuzhou". It used to be a nationally recognized advantage area of characteristic agricultural products.
