The Inheritance Significance of Filial Piety in Donghai
Inheritance of filial piety culture

Although the Book of Filial Piety in the East China Sea is a widely circulated folk myth and legend, the tomb of filial piety, the shrine of filial piety, the Yu cemetery and the Baixuegou mentioned in the story all exist.

Fu Xiao's Tomb is located in the southeast of the residence of the county government in Tancheng County, 20 meters east of the East Outer Ring Road, about 2 Li, belonging to Gezhuang Village in Tancheng Town. The mound is 5.6m high and its circumference is180m. This tomb facing south is a relic left over from the late Western Han Dynasty. Despite the vicissitudes of life, Xiao's burial place is still well preserved, and many people come to pay their respects during the Spring Festival or Tomb-Sweeping Day.

The shrine is located two miles south of the south entrance of Tancheng City, facing east, and is now on the south side of Tancheng Winery. It was built at the end of Zhou Law in the first year of Jiaqing, and the Houdian was rebuilt by Xu Mingzeng in the fifth year of Daoguang.

The Legend of Filial Piety is a folk literature work passed down by society and people, and there is no fixed population and linear inheritance relationship. After thousands of years of cultural heritage, today, the content of filial piety stories has been quite rich.

The ethical thought carried by the legend of filial piety is of positive significance. The legend of filial piety in Donghai embodies the traditional "filial piety" culture. Through the story of filial piety, we can see the social management, customs and cultural values in Tancheng area at that time, especially the prevalence of filial piety culture. Among the "Twenty-four Filial Pieties", the legendary stories that happened in Tancheng and its surrounding areas include "Deer's milk waits on the relatives" and "Wang Xiang lies on the carp", while the filial piety in Donghai is "filial piety".

The inheritors of reality are on the verge of disappearing.

However, due to oral inheritance, with the passage of time and the diversification of modern art, people are exposed to more and more forms of mass media. Nowadays, fewer and fewer old people can tell the story of Donghai filial piety completely, and many young people don't know it. The story of filial piety in the East China Sea and its remains are on the verge of disappearing with the passage of time.

Nowadays, the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is still a thought-provoking social problem. Since "filial piety culture" extends to the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, it is of positive significance to protect and publicize the legend of filial piety for promoting family harmony. In addition, Xiaozong was beheaded by a faint official for the crime of unfilial duty, which made Xiaozong's filial piety immortal, and it was of profound warning significance to take bribes and pervert the law, ignore the satrap of human life, be familiar with the criminal code and be good at solving cases.

It is understood that in order to better preserve and spread the legend of filial piety, Tancheng County invested funds to build the memorial for the protection of cultural relics in the tomb of filial piety and the memorial for the shrine of filial piety, collected and sorted out the legend of filial piety, published Tancheng Folk Literature Integration (Story Volume), included the materials of filial piety, and arranged Qin Liu's drama Filial Piety.

In addition, Tancheng County also recorded videos of old people who can tell stories about filial piety and stored them in art archives. Xiaoling is listed as a county-level cultural relics protection unit and a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit in the cemetery. In the next step, Tancheng County will also set up a research seminar on "China Filial Piety Phenomenon" to explain traditional culture and promote the spirit of filial piety and public welfare.
