Korean wedding customs:

The marriage custom system in Korea is monogamy. According to the traditional custom, close relatives, consanguinity and surname are not married. It is a common custom that "men are in charge of the outside and women are in charge of the inside". From matchmaking to marriage, there are six procedures, namely, accepting gifts, asking names, collecting money, inviting parties and welcoming guests.

1. What are the procedures for Korean weddings?

The traditional wedding in Korea includes two aspects, namely the groom's wedding and the bride's wedding. The groom rides a horse to greet the bride, and then the wedding held at the bride's house is called the groom's wedding. Generally, it is carried out in this order: goose-laying ceremony, worship ceremony, sexual intercourse ceremony, banquet ceremony, etc.

The groom needs to bring a brightly colored model goose to the woman's house and put it on the small table outside the bride's room, then gently push the model goose forward three times and finally bow. Goose is a bird that flies very high and never leaves until death. It symbolizes that the bride and groom will never be separated like geese, and they will always be loyal to each other.

2. Worship ceremony

After the goose release ceremony, the bride and groom bowed to each other inside and out and toasted each other.

3. Sexual intercourse ceremony

After the ceremony, the groom can enter the bride's room to meet her.

4. Wedding reception

Is for the groom to accept the wedding reception. The table is full of cakes, sweets, chicken, fish, meat, eggs and other foods. At the end of the party, soup should be served. There are three boiled eggs under the soup. The groom eats one or two boiled eggs and leaves one or two for the bride.

Second, Korean wedding customs

1, red pepper chicken stands for early birth.

At every Korean couple's wedding, there is a big table with food and fruit representing various meanings on it. The most striking thing is that there is a pair of cocks with red peppers in their mouths in the middle of the table. It is said that this is a metaphor for newlyweds to have children early. In addition, there are pines, bamboos, chestnuts, red dates and cakes on the table. Among them, chestnuts and red dates are also homonyms of "early fruit", symbolizing early birth.

2. Eat an egg in one bite and grab the lottery ticket.

In Taiwan Province, newlyweds kowtow to their parents before accepting the blessings of their families, and then exchange wedding tokens. Then someone picked up a bowl of rice from the console table. There are three eggs buried in the rice, and the groom wants to find two to eat. The eggs left in the rice were eaten by the bride. Every egg must be eaten in one bite, which means that the couple can win a good prize.

3. Pour a ladle of water on the spot to "conclude" that boys and girls are born.

At present, the preparations made by men and women before and after the wedding in Korea are basically the same. The most different thing is the "water splashing ladle" at the ceremony. There was a ladle at the wedding, which contained dates, grains and rice. The bride and groom picked it up together and threw it on the ground. The moral of this ladle is to predict the birth of a child. If the spout is up, it means you have a daughter; if the spout is upside down, it means you have a son.
