Shantou Radio and Television Center is the largest TV station in eastern Guangdong, and its scale and technical equipment are among the best in the national prefecture-level TV stations. The center has five channels and four frequencies (news 993, car frequency, traffic sound, news 993 wave). The transmission power of the first program of Shantou TV Station (Channel 33) is 10 kW, covering the whole city of Shantou, most areas of Chaozhou, Jieyang and parts of southeast Fujian. It is sent to Shenzhen IPTV for live broadcast through Internet fiber, covering an area of about1.2000 square kilometers and a population of 23.5 million. The coverage rate is 97%, including 78% in urban areas and 39% in rural areas. There are more than 8 million TV sets in the whole region, and the program signals are completely sent to cable TV networks in Shantou, Chaozhou and Jieyang and IPTV TV networks in Shenzhen.

The absolute ratings of Shantou TV Station in prime time are stable at around 36%, and it has become the most important media for disseminating information and communicating production and marketing in eastern Guangdong.

Shantou Radio and Television Center is located in the west of Shantou City, covering an area of 38.6 mu, with a total construction area of 32,000 square meters and a total investment of more than 230 million yuan. It consists of radio and television transmission tower, central complex building, comprehensive theater and other supporting facilities, integrating radio and television editing, production, broadcast control, transmission, variety show and office management, and is one of the landmark projects of spiritual civilization construction in Shantou.
