When was China's first artificial satellite, Dongfanghong-1, launched? ?
China's first artificial satellite, Dongfanghong-1, was launched in April 1970.

The development of 1965 was officially launched, and it was successfully launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on April 24th, 1970. Dongfanghong-1 satellite weighs 173kg and was sent into an elliptical orbit with perigee of 44 1km, apogee of 2368km and inclination of 68.44 degrees by the Long March-1 carrier rocket.

The satellite carried out orbit measurement and control, and played the music of Dongfanghong. Dongfanghong-1 satellite works for 28 days (design life is 20 days). The satellite stopped transmitting signals on May 14. Dongfanghong-1 satellite is still running in space orbit.

comprehensive assessment

The development and launch of Dongfanghong-1 satellite is a systematic project, including the development of launch vehicle, the construction of launch site, the development of satellite body and scientific instruments carried by satellite, and the establishment of ground observation network.

Dongfanghong-1 was successfully developed on the basis of overcoming a series of technical difficulties such as structural system, thermal control system and energy system, music device and short-wave telemetry system, tracking system, antenna system and scientific detection system. The successful launch of Dongfanghong-1 has laid a solid foundation for the development of China's space industry and provided valuable experience.
