Fengfeng Mining Area, which belongs to Handan City, Hebei Province, is located in the south of Hebei Province, at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces, with latitude of 36 20'-36 34' north and longitude of114 3'-16' east. The whole region covers an area of 353 square kilometers, governs 9 towns, 1 township, 1 street office, 157 rural communities and 4 1 urban communities, with a total population of 530,000. It is an old resource-based industrial and mining area where workers and peasants intersect and urban and rural areas crisscross.
There are more than 0/20 places of interest in the area, including 4 national key cultural relics protection units such as Xiangtang Grottoes, Cizhou Kiln Site, Yuhuangge and Shuiyu Temple, and 22 provincial and municipal key cultural relics protection units. Beiqi grottoes culture and Cizhou kiln culture are listed as the top ten cultural veins in Handan. "Cizhou Kiln Burning Technique" and "Wang Kan Luhua Lantern Array" were listed in the national intangible cultural heritage protection list, and 16 intangible cultural heritage was listed in the provincial and municipal protection list.
Organizational evolution:
1May, 949, Taihang District was reorganized and merged with Cixian County, which was led by Anyang Special Agency of Henan Province. On August 20, 1949, it was assigned to Hebei Province along with Cixian County. 1950 Fengfeng Mining Area was founded in 1952, directly under the leadership of Hebei Province. 1954 changed to the provincial government directly under Fengfeng city. 1956 merged with Handan city and changed to Fengfeng mining area.
