The Evolution of Yao Ji Town
Yao Ji Town has a long history and was inhabited as early as the ancient Yellow River and Zhangwei Mountain in the Qin Dynasty. According to the investigation of many famous archaeological experts and scholars from all over the country in Yao Ji and Zhangwei, the results show that as early as the Five Emperors period, there were ancestors living in this area. Before the Song Dynasty, most of the mountainous areas in southeast China were lake meadows, which were covered and silted by a large number of mud mounds after the Yellow River burst in successive years, naturally forming a large area of sandy alkali beach, which provided very favorable environmental conditions for human settlement and farming. At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang, the first ancestor of the Ming Dynasty, carried out the policy of compulsory immigration, and the first batch moved in from Quwo County, Shaanxi Province, where families with surnames such as Lu, Lin, Sun, Chen, Cheng and Xu settled and multiplied. In the second year of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty (1489), the Yellow River burst and flooded the western part of Suining, causing great disaster. Tian He was exhausted and many people drowned. So a temple was built for people to worship and pray for the elimination of the Yellow River flood, and the fourth day of the fourth lunar month was designated as the temple fair day every year, gradually forming a trading market for agricultural products and large livestock to exchange needed commodities. During the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was named "Yao Ji". At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Yao Ji was Qingyang Society, and after fifteen years of Hongwu, it was placed under Omura Society. From the first year of the Republic of China to 16, the south of the Yellow River belongs to Longhe City, and the north of the Yellow River belongs to Hebei City; 3 1 to 33, belonging to Suisu County; 37 to 38, belonging to Tongsui County; And it belongs to Suining county from 1948.
