On this day, the countryside around Jinan ate millet, called chicken cake rice, and called it in the northwest of Shandong. Yangxin also offered cakes to sacrifice fields and prayed for a good harvest. Agricultural proverbs say that it will rain in early August and the drought will end in May next year. It means that if it rains today, there will be a spring drought next year.
