As early as more than 7,000 years ago, people flourished in this land of Ningbo, creating a splendid Hemudu culture. It is one of the earliest Neolithic sites in China, located in the northeast of Hemudu Village, Hemudu Town, Yuyao City (1954 formerly belonged to Cixi City).
There have been many conjectures about the whereabouts of Hemudu people: it is said that the plains were immersed in the sea and became shallow seas, and Hemudu people were forced to retreat to Huiji Mountain in the south, and some moved to Taihu Lake basin in the west to become the creators of Liangzhu culture; Some experts also believe that some people wandered all the way along the southeast coast to today's Fujian, and even drifted across the strait.
In the summer of 20 10, in Langjiaping Village, Jiulonghu Town, Zhenhai, archaeologists found several pieces of pottery with strange patterns scattered at the foot of Yushan Mountain and Wugui Mountain, which were confirmed as cultural relics of Shang and Zhou Dynasties. This adds a new legend to the mystery of Hemudu people's whereabouts-they may have stayed here for more than 5,000 years and have been "facing the sea and blooming in spring". It thrives in the areas of "Yushan" and "Guishan" in the remaining veins of Siming Mountain. I believe that people in Ningbo now may really have Hemudu gene.
(2) The second group of Ningbo people: Vietnamese.
Ningbo has belonged to Wuyue cultural area since ancient times, and Ningbo dialect is a dialect of Wu dialect, belonging to the small piece of Taihu Lake Yongjiang in Wu dialect.
In the pre-Qin period, Ningbo was mainly the seat of Yue State. After Gou Jian, the King of Yue, destroyed Wu, he built a castle and had the ability to assemble and berth large warships at that time. At this time, Ningbo Port City began to sprout.
The Qin Dynasty belonged to Huiji County and was deeply influenced by Wuyue culture. During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, Mingzhou was the most important foreign trade port in wuyue. Qian Liu traveled to Mingzhou in his spare time, and Dinghai City was built at that time. In Wu Yueguo, there are also close relatives, such as Qian Liu's three sons, Qian Yuanshu, Qian and Qian.
Up to now, many Ningbo residents are descendants of the integration of Han nationality in Central Plains and wuyue nationality.
(3) The third group of Ningbo people: Du Nan, a righteous official of the Han nationality in the Central Plains.
Historically, the population of the Central Plains crossing southern Xinjiang is mainly divided into three stages:
The first stage was the Yongjia Rebellion in the Western Jin Dynasty. At that time, many families in the Central Plains moved to Huiji County, and Ningbo belonged to Huiji County at that time. For example, Wang Yangming is the descendant of Wang Xizhi who moved south at that time. At that time, Wang Xizhi first moved to Shaoxing and later moved to Yuyao.
The second stage: An Shi Rebellion in Tang Dynasty and Huang Chao Uprising. Ningbo's port status developed greatly in the late Tang Dynasty, when the economic center of China moved southward rapidly. Ningbo has become an important port because of its superior geographical location. Mingzhou Port has become one of the four major ports in China at that time, with many routes leading to Asia, Africa and Europe. At that time, many people from the Central Plains went south to Mingzhou, and the descendants of Tang Xian and Lu Zhi also moved to Ningbo. According to the records of Fenghua surname migration, at the end of the Tang Dynasty, the foreign population increased, including Wang, Jiang, Lin, Han, Tang, Song, Qiu, Lu, Zhuang, Wu, Lou and Cao.
The third stage: After the shame of Jingkang, Lin 'an was the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty. At that time, many people from the Central Plains moved to what is now Hangzhou. Ningbo is second only to Hangzhou in the southeast and upgraded to qingyuan prefecture. So at that time, Ningbo also absorbed a large number of immigrants from the Central Plains. For example, Bao Yugang, a Ningbo-born world ship king, is a descendant of Bao Zheng in the Northern Song Dynasty. His ancestors immigrated to Hangzhou and then to Ningbo in the Southern Song Dynasty, and he is a descendant of Anhui immigrants to Ningbo. Tu Youyou, the first Nobel Prize winner in China, moved to Ningbo from Wuxi, Jiangsu Province in the Southern Song Dynasty.
After the Opium War, Ningbo became one of the five major trading ports at that time. With the rise of merchants, the economy developed rapidly, and a large number of people from surrounding areas poured in, such as Wenzhou, Taizhou and Quzhou in the province. Outside the province, immigrants from Anhui, Jiangxi and northern Jiangsu are the main ones.
