Residents' committees are grass-roots mass self-governing organizations for residents' self-management, self-education and self-service. They are the important foundation of China people's democratic dictatorship and urban grass-roots political power, and also one of the bridges and ties between the party and the government and the people.
The lowest management organization in China is the neighborhood committee, and its staff are retired old ladies, so it is called "Little Foot Detective Team". Community security, cleaning, posting slogans, catching thieves, and issuing government documents are all the responsibilities of neighborhood committees.
Changshu city, referred to as Yu for short, is named "Changshu" because of "fertile land and no floods and droughts at the age of", and it is a national historical and cultural city. Changshu, located in the south of the Yangtze River, is known as the "blessed land in the south of the Yangtze River" and is one of the birthplaces of Wu culture. Changshu, located in the south of Jiangsu Province, is a county-level city managed by Suzhou City. Changshu is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the northeast, across the river from Nantong, adjacent to Taicang in the southeast, Xiangcheng and Suzhou in Kunshan in the south, Jiangyin and Xishan in Wuxi in the west and Zhangjiagang in the northwest.
